Variables
Western Bluebird
Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with 559-1512 mm
of annual precipitation and little or no sage steppe. Where moister
climate (1511-3216 mm annual precipitation), it occurred mostly in
hexagons with elevation (hex. avg.) of more than 237 ft. Where drier
climate, it occurred mostly in hexagons with more than 2% mixed
conifer forest (Northeast Oregon). The logistic regression analysis
showed positive or negative association with mixed conifer forest
(Northeast Oregon), ponderosa pine forest, big sagebrush shrubland,
sagebrush steppe, topographic variation, the extent of public land, June
maximum temperature (hex. min.), and-to a lesser degree-mixed
conifer forest (Douglas-fir dominant), and July maximum temperature
(hex. min.).
